Acidification of the body – quiet danger!
How does acidification occur? What are the symptoms? How can this be prevented? Excess acids and rheumatic ailments.
Our body is a chemical laboratory that is constantly working on maintaining the balance of chemical changes. Even small deviations from the norm cause drastic and fatal consequences for the body. Our eating habits and lifestyle, however, cause continuous acidification, which eventually leads to the consumption of reserves and the depletion of buffer systems. The surplus of acids can not be neutralized and stored in soft tissues and joints, especially the toes, elbows, hands and knees, causing inflammation and pain.
When eating and drinking, we provide the body with minerals that are necessary to maintain the acid-base balance, which is one of the basic conditions for the proper functioning of the body.
If we eat too much acidic products, which include animal proteins, carbohydrates (eg sugar, flour, light rice, pasta), fat, coffee, black tea, alcohol and nicotine, an excess of acidic metabolic waste may be formed in the body. The level of acid in the blood may also be increased as a result of stress, rush, slimming treatments, excessive medication, lack of exercise or too much physical activity.
Acids cause aging of tissues, wrinkles, pain and swelling when the body retains water to dilute it and prevent damage. Cancer cells quickly develop in an acidic environment, while healthy cells die.

How does acidification occur?
The chemical and biological reactions in our body occur mainly in the aqueous environment. In the water are dissolved nutrients and electrolytes, the basic building block of metabolism. Intracellular and intracellular fluids in the body provide a strictly defined dynamic balance between acids and bases. This is a prerequisite for the proper functioning of organs.
In aqueous solutions, the acids release hydrogen ions H +. The more H + ions released, the stronger the acid. This is determined by the so-called pH value, which is lower when the acid is stronger.
The bases are compounds that release hydroxyl OH- ions in an aqueous solution. OH – ions have the ability to bind H + ions, thereby neutralizing the acids. The excess of hydrogen ions remaining in the solution (H +) causes its acidification.

Lungs and kidneys actively eliminate end products of metabolism from the body, blood buffer systems neutralize the acidic products of this transformation. The proper functioning of these mechanisms is closely related to the proper function of the kidneys and lungs, as well as the availability of minerals with alkaline effects in food. The source of these ingredients may be fruits, vegetables, sprouts, nuts, grains. A balanced diet should consist of 80 percent of basic products, and only 20 percent of acid-forming products.

The accumulation of acids can occur as an effect

In our body there is no organ, functional unit or individual cells that could not be damaged or even completely destroyed by excess acids.
Our lifestyle and eating habits, however, cause continuous acidification of the body, which eventually leads to the consumption of reserves and the running out of buffer systems. If acidification exceeds the buffer capacity of the system, the excess acid can not be neutralized and is stored in soft tissues and joints, in the form of painful deposits, consisting mainly of salts precipitated from acids. They are a sign of chronic lesions and the cause of many patient complaints.

How can you diagnose acidification of the body?
The condition of connective tissues is particularly important for assessing the degree of acidity in the body. For example, from palpation of the connective tissue at the level of the sacrum (tissue hardness), the degree of acidification of the body can be determined. Other symptoms are the color and condition of the skin and the color of the tongue.
The pH measurement of body fluids does not reflect the actual acid-base state of the whole human body. It only shows us the condition that is in a given fluid at a given moment.

How can this be prevented?
If, with the help of a specialist or our own diagnosis, we have found excessive accumulation of acids in the body, several important rules should be followed to repair the damage and prevent further
Take enough fluids.
Depending on the height and weight of a given person, it is necessary to drink between 2.5 and 4 liters of pure, high-quality water on average. The urine should be almost transparent at least once a day.
Change your diet.
You should eat as little as possible pork, very little fat, little sugar. It is required to comply with regular meal times. The food should be carefully chewed in the mouth. Do not eat fruit in the evening before sleeping.
Avoid sodium (table salt). Excess salt contributes to the development of hypertension, damages the gastric mucosa, and increases the risk of stroke. We consume too much, even 13 times more than the demand. A lot of “hidden salt” contains ready-made, highly processed food, preserves, sausages, sauces and powdered soups.
Avoid excessive consumption of alcohol, nicotine and caffeine.

Avoid overloading !! It’s better to go for a long walk than for a short run. Movement with moderate load and fresh air provide oxygen to the lungs and increase the efficiency of the blood buffer system.
Experience shows that the most important step in treating a disease is to remove its cause.
