Olive oil converts cholesterol to testosterone


The more fat you consume, the more testosterone your body produces. By. Argentinean doctors’ research, the best testosterone booster is olive oil. Today’s research confirms their theory and shows how olive oil increases the production of testosterone – it helps in the absorption of cholesterol. 

The experiment was carried out on rats. For 6 days, the rats were fed with soy oil, olive oil, coconut oil or grape seed. The dose was 7g per kg. At the end of the test, the researchers measured the level of testosterone scavenged. The diagram below shows that coconut oil and olive oil were the best testosterone booster substances.

Rats fed olive oil were also heavier 

Argentineans described in their last year’s work why this is happening. Olive oil and coconut oil increase the activity of the enzyme 3-beta-HSD and 17-beta-HSD. They are related to the construction of testosterone. Olive oil and coconut oil also increase the concentration of antioxidants in Leydig cells, which are responsible for the production of testosterone. In today’s research, scientists have taken a step forward. They found a relationship between diet, free cholesterol in Leydig cells and testosterone levels. 


Leydig cells do testosterone from cholesterol. A diet rich in coconut oil and olive oil apparently helps cells to absorb cholesterol. The cells also have a greater ability to take cholesterol from the esters. 



But it is the olive oil that go cholesterol in testosterone – it’s so in a nutshell, because the process is more complex which explains to some extent this article. It is worth remembering oil in the diet.
