Diet or aerobics – what is more important?
The study compared diet and diet combined with aerobics. The effects on body composition, lipid profile and efficiency in women were assessed. Twenty women were studied at the beginning and after 8 weeks.
Body weight and fat content, amount of cholesterol, HDL-C, LDL-C and triglycerides, amount of lactate at 100 W expenditure and maximum power in watts were tested.
They were assigned randomly to groups
Results after 8 weeks
The researchers concluded that weight reduction alone depends on the energy balance. I do not quite agree with this, because an excessive deficit contributes to the inhibition of further reduction and is able to disrupt the metabolism, and it is much more difficult to overdo it with the volume of training eg. Aerobic. In addition, strength training can increase muscle mass, and thus indirectly promotes fat burning for 24 hours – which can not be said about aerobics.
